Alchemy Doesn't Always Feel Magical

Sometimes the alchemic/transformation process doesn’t feel magic at all. It can be uncomfortable, unexpected, unruly, odd, and emotional as we consciously (or unconsciously) engage with our unhealed parts, with the parts of us (collective and personal) that are in the process of transformation. Even seemingly stagnant water is in a state of transformation, it’s simply at a different phase of the process. It’s not clear yet. If you’re experiencing a sense of clarity with areas of life (an impetus to move away from something or someone), I wonder what it might be like to consider it as a loving completion of one way of relating with oneself in order o begin anew in an expanded experience.

Here’s the thing, what we might consider blissful, smooth, or magical occurs at the same time as the unruly parts surfacing to find expression, understanding, healing, and integration. It all goes together. It’s why I do both nervous system work and quantum energy healing work. It’s all supportive of the ability to be home with oneself, to be in Union within. One supports the other at all times, allowing for a dance and a curiosity in experience instead of self judgement and spiritual bypassing. And nervous system work allows for more digestible experiences that can be integrated more comfortably, offering more ease even amidst big transitions. Nervous system function is an integral part of the alchemic process, as is the “magical’, higher realm alchemic processes, supporting the integration, the UNION, and the inner alchemy transformation that’s not only possible, it’s a natural part of our existence just waiting to be illuminated and danced with.

When we come undone, when there is disconnect in some way, or when we’re in a time of clear—but pressure filled—completions, it’s helpful to understand that it’s part of the alchemy process. There are many phases in the inner alchemy process, and a very important one is the breakdown, dissolution, and completion of things—the coming apart. The pressure before the expansion.

There is a collective “awakening” or transformation process underway, to move toward re-Union with the part of our beingness which is already wise, already free, already at peace - the infinite energetic essence. And the practice of being that energy expressing through our human nature — being an illumined human with access to lived wisdom (not instead of but in addition to and beyond intellect). Dr Joe Dispenza calls it the superhuman, Aberto Villoldo refers to it as homoluminous. The Collectives of Light I have a cultivated relationship with call it the reUNION—the awakening, enlivening, re-connection, integration, illumination, and emanation of that which you already are. The enlivening of the Light Body and the phase of connection of the Light Body with the physical, mental, emotional, and energetic bodies.

It can seem daunting, particularly if one has already been experiencing challenge for some time. Typically there is a time of tremendous change (a dark night of the soul AND/OR a refining process) followed by phases of alchemic growth and expansion that are occurring simultaneously. Even when we’re focused intently on one area of our life, the phases aren’t occurring in isolation, as all things are occurring at the same time. If you’re in the coming undone phase, still healing from a coming undone time, or are feeling tired from the accelerated pace of shedding and rebirth, have heart. The “magic” you’ve been searching for is in the same space. Rather than seeking magic in the form of intensity of experience, or connection with “higher” beings, what if the magic is a sense of more ease, more abundance, more sense of freedom, more wisdom (gnosis), more peace — accessible even in times of difficulty. What if the magic is a reclaiming of your own inner wisdom? What if it’s in you, as you?

The processes of transformation/alchemy happen on all levels—physical, mental, emotional, “spiritual”/energetic. And it’s easy to get sidetracked into focusing intently on one part of the whole— the part that is screaming the loudest for change. And rightly so. Let us give loving attention to the parts desiring more support in some way. Let us also remember that the alchemic process of transforming one lived experience into another is in the same space, but it requires active participation, a willingness to be with the hard parts, an ability to not get lost in or addicted to sensory experiences, and an openness to the possibilities that lie dormant in the very structures our energetic essence expresses with and through—our bodies.
