Somatic Experiencing® is a body-oriented therapeutic model that helps heal trauma and other stress disorders. Developed by Peter Levine, Ph.D., it is the result of the multidisciplinary study of stress physiology, psychology, ethology, biology, neuroscience, indigenous healing practices, and medical biophysics, with more than 45 years of successful clinical application. Essentially, Somatic Experiencing® helps people who have experienced trauma to regulate their own nervous systems and to process trauma, often after years of having experienced anxiety, stress, depression, and other disorders secondary to dysregulation from the unprocessed traumatic event(s) they experienced.
Completion of a 3 year trauma and nervous system training program in addition to case consults and personal Somatic Experiencing® sessions are required to become a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner®.

Just like we all have a physical body, we also all have an energetic body, which is in relation with our physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual bodies. It is the ability to work with a person’s energy Field and Infinite Essence in non-physical, non-local ways (in a Quantum Field where all potentials exist). This is a specialty of mine. I sense the ways of connection and how all interrelates between the physical and non-physical.

No. I offer both in person and remote (via Zoom). While there are certainly benefits to both, we don’t have to live in the same place. If you have more questions about that, I’m happy to share more.

Guided Drawing® uses rhythmic bilateral repetition to explore emotions and felt sensations in the body as flowing or blocked internal movements. Trauma manifests physiologically as bracing patterns, tension, pain or numbness, accompanied by strong emotions.
Here the focus is not on the story of what happened, but on the implicit responses needed in that present moment. The process is self-guided, which is profoundly empowering for the client. The therapist has the option to introduce archetypal shapes as interventions to structure and support this bottom-up approach.
Trauma is held in the body and can only be undone through embodying interventions.
Body-focused movement therapy
Guided Drawing® tracks the felt sense in the body through rhythmic bilateral movements.
These build implicit trust and encourage active responses to once overwhelming experiences.
Certification training was developed and taught by Cornelia Elbrecht, a trauma informed art therapist for more than 40 years.
